The table shows a few examples where you can use the Plane stress, Plane strain, or Axisymmetric options.

Plane Stress Turning a wrench to tighten a bolt

Other examples include thin plates under pressure, bracket under distributed load, snap fit of plastic clips, and free surface of shafts in torsion.
