Creating a Routing Assembly from a P and ID File

You can import a Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) from a specially formatted .xml file and use that file as a guide in building route assemblies.

Open the Piping and Instrumentation tab.
Import the P&ID file.
Insert the equipment into the routing assembly.
Connect the piping systems to the equipment and save the routing assembly.

Opening the Piping and Instrumentation Tab
To create a routing assembly specified from P&ID data, open the Piping and Instrumentation tab from the Task Pane.
Importing Data from a P and ID File
You can import P&ID data after opening the Piping and Instrumentation tab from the Task Pane.
Inserting P and ID Equipment
After importing P and ID data to the Piping and Instrumentation tab of the Task Pane, you can insert all equipment to the routing assembly.
Connecting P and ID Piping Systems to the Equipment
After you insert the P and ID equipment into a routing assembly, you can connect each piping system individually.
