SOLIDWORKS Connected and the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform

These lessons give you an introduction to the SOLIDWORKS Connected functionality related to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

The lessons are particularly useful for those transitioning from SOLIDWORK Desktop to SOLIDWORKS Connected or new to the the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Differences between SOLIDWORKS Desktop and SOLIDWORKS Connected

SOLIDWORKS Connected is a full version of SOLIDWORKS that installs on your computer from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and gives you access to all the platform capabilities granted by your 3DEXPERIENCE role.

If you can model parts in SOLIDWORKS Desktop, you can model the same parts in SOLIDWORKS Connected. The same modeling tools are available in both versions: sweeps, lofts, surfacing, sheet metal, weldments, assembly tools, and more.

SOLIDWORKS Connected works the same way as SOLIDWORKS Desktop except for a few differences in the user experience and how it handles files and configurations. The differences let you share designs and collaborate with other members of your team.
