API

The SolidWorks Workgroup PDM Application Programming Interface (API) is an OLE programming interface to Workgroup PDM, which allows you to automate and customize Workgroup PDM. The API contains functions that you can call from Visual Basic (VB), Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), VB.NET, C++ 6.0, C++.NET, and C#.NET. These functions provide direct access to the Workgroup PDM environment. It is assumed that you are familiar with at least one of these programming languages.

To access Workgroup PDM API help:

Navigate to:

<install_dir>\Program Files\pdmworks workgroup server\api\pdmworksapi.chm

- or -

<install_dir>\Program Files\solidworks\api\pdmworksapi.chm

- or -

<install_dir>\Program Files\Common Files\SolidWorks Shared

If you did not install Workgroup PDM API, then help is not available.

To install Workgroup PDM API:

  1. In Windows, click Start, Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Add or Remove Programs.

  3. Select Workgroup PDM Server and click Change.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to modify the installation.
