Results PropertyManager (Motion Analysis only)

You can calculate and plot Motion Analysis results such as forces and displacements in the Results PropertyManager.

Result

Determine the type of plot you to display (Motion Analysis only).

  • Select a category.

  • Select a sub-category.

  • Select a result component.

  • Select a component face, edge, vertex, or mate. You can drag your mouse over the FeatureManager design tree to aid in component and mate selection. A triad appears on the component or mate to show its local direction of X, Y, and Z.

Plot Results

To Create a new plot, you must select a Plot result versus option:

  • Time. Time during the simulation as depicted on the timeline.

  • Frame. This is the animation frame number, based on settings in Motion Study Properties.

  • New Result. Create the result under Define new result, selecting a category, sub-category, and components just as you do for Result.

Add to existing plot. Select a plot number from the list to add the result you just specified to an existing plot.

Output Options

Select Show vector in the graphics window to display graphical representations of available vectors for the following types of result plots:

  • Forces:

    • Reaction force

    • Reaction moment

  • Displacement/Velocity/Acceleration:

    • Linear displacement

    • Linear velocity

    • Linear acceleration
