Update the Vault

When a new version of the vault software is available, the vault administrator should perform an update as described in the installation guide. After the vault software is updated, there is no need for a system administrator to update each client and VaultAdmin individually.

When the vault is updated and a user logs in to another Workgroup PDM application (VaultAdmin, SolidWorks Explorer client, or SolidWorks client), a message indicates the software is not compatible with the version in the vault if the application is not in the same major release of Workgroup PDM. (However, the service pack levels do not have to match. For example, you can run an SP3 version of the vault software with a client that has SP2 installed.) Users should follow the on-screen instructions to update the application.
