Transparent Commands

You can use commands starting with an apostrophe (') while you execute another command.

For example, you can start one of the drawing commands such as LINE, type 'SNAP at the prompt, and respond to the 'SNAP prompt. The SolidWorks software automatically returns you to the LINE prompt after 'SNAP completes.

The following commands are transparent:

'CAL
'COLOR

'GRID

'ORTHO

'OSNAP

'PAN

'REDRAW

'REDRAWALL

'SNAP

'UNITS

'VIEW

'ZOOM

You can also use these commands alone. Type them at the command prompt without an apostrophe.

You can toggle GRID, ORTHO, and SNAP to be ON or OFF with function keys F7, F8, and F9, or by double-clicking on the status line. See Function Key Toggles.
