Changing the View of a Model

To change your view of a model, work with the View toolbar. In some cases, you can use standard SolidWorks keyboard shortcuts.

Action On View toolbar Icon Keyboard shortcut
Return to selection mode Click Select.  
Pan Click Pan, then drag. Ctrl + middle-drag
Rotate Click Rotate, then drag. Middle-drag
Zoom Click Zoom, then drag up to zoom in or down to zoom out. Shift + middle-drag. Drag up to zoom in. Drag down to zoom out.
Zoom to an area Click Zoom Window, select the center, then drag the rectangle outward.  
Display the entire model in the view Click Fit to View.
