Detailing Overview

From models to drawings

As you create a model, you can include detailing (dimensions, notes, symbols, etc.), and then insert the dimensions and annotations from the model into a drawing using:

Before you create drawings, prepare parts by arranging dimensions, creating configurations, and adding properties. Drawings from prepared parts require less manipulation.

In drawings

Once in the drawing, you can add reference dimensions, annotations, bills of materials, revision tables, etc.

Annotations and reference dimensions added in drawings do not affect part or assembly documents.
