Parameters

WhichText

Part of the text to get as defined in swDimensionTextParts_e

Text

Text string

Remarks

A display dimension is made up of several individual pieces of text, as shown in the dimension properties dialog box:

  • Callout text above

  • Prefix text dimension value suffix text

  • Callout text below

By specifying one of the values from swDimensionTextParts_e for the whichText parameter, you can retrieve each of these texts (except for the Dimension Value) individually.

Use swDimensionTextAll to replace the entire dimension text. SolidWorks places the input text in the prefix portion of the dimension text, clears the suffix and callout texts, and turns off the dimension value (see IDisplayDimension::ShowDimensionValue).

After using this method, use IModelDoc2::GraphicsRedraw2 to redraw the graphics window to see your changes.
