CreatePlanarSurface2 Method (IModeler)

Creates a new infinite planar surface.

.NET Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Function CreatePlanarSurface2( _
   ByVal VRootPoint As Object, _
   ByVal VNormal As Object, _
   ByVal VRef As Object _
) As Object
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As IModeler
Dim VRootPoint As Object
Dim VNormal As Object
Dim VRef As Object
Dim value As Object

value = instance.CreatePlanarSurface2(VRootPoint, VNormal, VRef)
C#
object CreatePlanarSurface2(
   object VRootPoint,
   object VNormal,
   object VRef
)
C++/CLI
Object^ CreatePlanarSurface2(
&   Object^ VRootPoint,
&   Object^ VNormal,
&   Object^ VRef
)

Parameters

VRootPoint
Array of 3 doubles (x,y,z)
VNormal
Array of 3 doubles (x,y,z)
VRef
Array of 3 doubles representing the vector defining the x-axis on the plane

Return Value

Newly created planar surface

Example

Remarks

You can use this method with:

  • A set of related functions designed to construct a body from trimmed surfaces. It can also be used with trimming curve creation routines to construct a trimmed planar surface.

  • Trimming curve creation routines such as ISurface::AddTrimmingLoop2 or ISurface::IAddTrimmingLoop2 to construct a trimmed surface.

See IBody2::CreatePlanarTrimSurfaceDLL or IBody2::ICreatePlanarTrimSurfaceDLL, which allows you to create a planar trimmed surface directly from the vertex points.
