Dowel Pin Symbols

You can add dowel pin symbols to holes (circular edges or sketched circles or arcs) in drawings. The symbol conforms to the size of the selected hole.

Following are some restrictions on dowel pin symbols:

  • The face containing the hole must be normal to the plane of the currently active view.

  • You cannot move dowel pin symbols with Copy or Cut and Paste operations unless the symbol is defined by sketch entities.

To insert dowel pin symbols into a drawing:

  1. Click Dowel Pin Symbol on the Annotation toolbar, or click Insert, Annotations, Dowel Pin Symbol, and select a circular edge or a sketched circle or arc.

    - or -

Select one or more circular edges or sketched circles or arcs and click Dowel Pin Symbol or click Insert, Annotations, Dowel Pin Symbol.

Dowel pin symbols appear in the selected holes, and the Dowel Pin Symbol PropertyManager appears. You can continue to select circular edges or sketched circles or arcs to insert additional dowel pin symbols.

  2. Under Display Attributes, select Flip symbol if desired. The dowel pin symbols currently selected rotate 90°.

NOTE: To flip a dowel pin symbol after it has been inserted, right-click the symbol (the pointer changes to when it is over the symbol) and select Flip Symbol.

  3. Click OK .
