Component Mesh Control

When specifying mesh control for multiple components or bodies you can select Use per part size to let the program assign an element size to each component or body based on its individual volume. When you select Use part size, you no longer see the options under Mesh Parameters as element sizes vary among select components.

You can still move the Mesh Density slider to adjust the element size.

Let E1 be the calculated element size for Part1 and E2 be the calculated element size for Part2.

  • Move the Mesh Density slider to Coarse to increase the element sizes for Part1 and Part2 to 2.0(E1) and 2.0(E2) respectively.

  • Move the Mesh Density slider to Fine to decrease the element sizes for Part1 and Part2 to 0.5(E1) and 0.5(E2) respectively.

NOTE: The program uses a growth ratio of 1.5 for all components when Use per part size is selected.
