Simulation Setup PropertyManager

With SolidWorks Simulation added in, you can perform stress, factor of safety, or deformation analysis of components without setting up loads and boundary conditions. The required loads are obtained automatically from a calculated Motion Analysis study.

For each stress analysis result, you can select a component, duration, and start time in the Simulation Setup PropertyManager. You can also modify the mesh density.

To open the PropertyManager, from a Motion Analysis study, click Simulation Setup (MotionManager toolbar).

Selection

Component Displays component on which to calculate stress analysis results.
Select only single-body top-level components for stress analysis.
Start Time Sets start time for an isolated time point or time range.
You can enter a time value or select the time from the MotionManager timeline.
End Time Sets end time for an isolated time point or time range.
Add Time   Includes isolated time point or time range in stress analysis.
You can enter multiple isolated time points or time ranges.

Advanced

Mesh Density Slider adjusts mesh density from Course to Fine.
Check Mesh   Monitors mesh creation and displays mesh progress.
To set up stress analysis for more than one part, click Keep Visible and select another part.
When closing the Simulation Setup PropertyManager, you are prompted to select the component material in the Material dialog box if you have not yet set up the material.
