Change Document Status

You can change the lifecycle status without opening the document.

The vault administrator sets permissions on the VaultAdmin Lifecycle tab (a user or group, administrators, etc).

To change a document lifecycle:

  1. In the SolidWorks client or the SolidWorks Explorer client, right-click document in the vault view and select Change Lifecycle Status.

  2. In the dialog box, make selections as described below, then click OK.

Lifecycle status

Current status. Read-only.

New status. Select a lifecycle status from the list. The list is created by the vault administrator on the Lifecycle tab of VaultAdmin.

    The Status Change event is noted in the Action column of the History/Notes tab in the Document Information dialog box and in the SolidWorks Explorer client along with a note in the Notes column.

Scope

Choose which documents are to change their lifecycle status.

  • Selected item.

  • Document's children (all items under selected). Change status for the selected document's children. Choose either First level children only or All children.

  • Do not change if document is a link. Do not change the status if the document resides in another project and is referenced by a link .
