Creating Parting Surfaces

Create parting surfaces, which are extruded from parting lines, to separate the mold cavity from the core.

  1. Click Parting Surfaces (Mold Tools toolbar) or Insert > Mold > Parting Surface.
  2. Make appropriate selections in the PropertyManager for Mold Parameters, Parting Line, Parting Surface, and Options. Then click .

The parting surfaces appear in the Parting Surface Bodies folder, which is created by the software under the Surfaces Bodies folder in the FeatureManager design tree.

To create a tooling split (the next step in the process), you need at least three surface bodies in the Surface Bodies folder: a core surface body, a cavity surface body, and a parting surface body.
