Modifying a Detail View

To change the position or size of a profile:

  1. Select the profile.

The pointer changes to art\DTL_CURS.gif when it is on the detail profile.

  1. Drag the center point to change the position, or drag a side to change the size.

    The Detail View changes as the profile changes.

To change the profile by editing the sketch:

  1. Right-click the profile sketch and select Edit Sketch.

  2. Edit the profile as needed to change the shape or size.

  3. Click Rebuild to update the detail view.

To select the profile display:

If you use a shape other than a circle as the profile, you can choose to display either the profile or its circle in the parent view.

  1. Select the Detail View or detail circle.

    The Detail View PropertyManager appears.

  2. Under Detail Circle, select Circle or Profile. If Profile is not available, change Style to With Leader, No Leader, or Connected.

You can choose whether the circle or profile is displayed by default in a new Detail View. Click Tools, Options, System Options, Drawings. Select or clear the Display new detail circles as circles check box.

  1. Click OK .

To change the scale of the Detail View:

  1. Double-click the note text.

  2. Edit the scale values.

    - or -

  1. Select the Detail View or detail circle.

  2. In the Detail View PropertyManager, set options under Scale, then click OK .

    The Detail View scale is displayed in the note if its scale is different from the sheet scale.

To change the Detail View note text:

    Double-click the note and edit the text in place. Click outside the note to exit.

Changes to the note text also update the label.

To change the text of the label on the detail profile:

    Double-click the label and edit the text in place. Click outside the label to exit.

     - or -

    Select the detail circle or label. The Detail View PropertyManager appears. Under Detail Circle, modify the text and font.

Changes to the label also update the note text.

To change the font for note text or labels in detail views:

  1. Select the note text or label.

  2. In the PropertyManager, clear Document font.

  3. Click Font.

  4. Set the font options and click OK.

    If you change the label font, you are asked if you want to apply the change to the note text.

To pin Detail Views:

You can pin Detail Views, to keep the detail view in the same relative position on the drawing sheet if you change the scale of the view.

Select the Detail View. In the Detail View PropertyManager, under Detail View, select Pin position.
