Revision Number Properties Dialog Box

Use the Revision Number Properties dialog box to define revision number formats.
To display the dialog box:
  • To create a new revision number format, expand Revisions, then right-click Revision numbers and select New revision number.
  • To view or modify an existing revision number format, expand Revisions > Revision numbers and double-click the revision number.
Revision number name

Descriptive name of the revision number.

Revision number format string
Format of the revision number. Do any:
  • Type static text to appear in your revision numbers, such as Rev-.
  • To select a revision number component, click and select a component. You can use multiple components in your revision number.
  • To create a new revision number component, click and select New component.

For example, if you type Rev-, then click and select a component whose counter format is 000, then your revision numbers will be Rev-001, Rev-002, and so on.
