Settings Dialog Box - File Compare

Use the File Compare page to specify the external application to use when comparing two files or two versions of a file.

By default, the Compare command only reports whether the files or file versions are different. Use this tab to specify a comparison application that can provide more details.

To display the Settings dialog box, right-click a user or group and select Settings.

Installed compare programs

Lists programs that have been associated with the Compare command.

Select an existing association to edit it.

Add

Adds a viewer to the list.

Remove

Removes a selected viewer from the list.

Extensions

Extensions of file types to be supported by the compare application you are adding.

Extensions

Extensions of file types to be supported by the compare application you are adding.

Paths and arguments to viewer program

The full path to the compare application.

Lets you choose the file name argument or choose from a list of environment variables.
