Creating Workflow Links

You can link workflows by defining a transition with a source state in one workflow and a destination state in a different workflow. For example, the same document may need to be approved by different organizations using different workflows.

To link workflows:

  1. Open the source workflow.
  2. Right-click where you want to place a state from another workflow and select New Workflow Link, or click New Workflow Link (Workflow toolbar).

You can move the link later by dragging the box.

  3. From the Workflow Link dialog box, select the target workflow and state.

The target state does not have to be the initial state of the target workflow.

  4. Create a transition and select the workflow link as the destination state. Ensure that you also assign appropriate transition rights.

Workflow links cannot be transition source states.
