Logging In

To manage your files, you log in and open a SolidWorks Enterprise PDM file vault.

  1. Start Windows Explorer and navigate to the vault view.

Vaults are displayed with the Enterprise PDM icon next to the vault name.

Local vault views appear in the location where they were created and in the Favorites list at the top of the navigation pane.

  2. Double-click the vault icon.
  3. Type your User name and Password and click Log In.

Depending on how Enterprise PDM is configured, you might be logged in automatically.

The log in screen has a Work Offline link that lets you work on files in your local cache off-line when you are not connected to an Enterprise PDM vault. See Working Off-line.

After you log in, the EPDM icon appears in the icons on the left side of the taskbar and is present until you exit Enterprise PDM. If taskbar icons are hidden, click show_hidden_icons to see the icon.

If you log off rather than exit, the icon for the file vault remains in the task bar and you can click it to log back in.

Logging in from the icon in the taskbar does not open Windows Explorer.
