SolidWorks Workgroup PDM and SolidWorks Explorer

Workgroup PDM and SolidWorks Explorer work together to help you manage files.

The Workgroup PDM application is project data management software that runs inside the SolidWorks® environment or as a standalone application inside SolidWorks Explorer. Workgroup PDM controls projects with procedures for check out, check in, revision control, and other administration tasks.

SolidWorks Explorer is a file management tool designed to help you perform such tasks as renaming, replacing, and copying SolidWorks files. You can show a document’s references, search for documents using a variety of criteria, and list all the places where a document is used.

You can use Workgroup PDM with or without the SolidWorks application. You can use SolidWorks Explorer with or without the SolidWorks application and with or without Workgroup PDM added in.
