Reaction Force
You can list reaction forces on selected entities for an active static, nonlinear, drop test and dynamic study. The software lists the X-, Y-, Z-components of the reaction force, and the resultant reaction force on the selected entities and on the entire model as well.
Selection
-
Plane, Axis or Coordinate System . Select to list the results relative to the selected entity.
-
Units . Sets the output units.
-
Faces, Edges, or Vertices . Lists the selected entities.
-
Components. Lists the selected components.
-
Plot Step Sets the time step number at which you want to list the reaction force. This option is available only with nonlinear, drop test and dynamic studies.
-
. Displays the time corresponding to the selected plot step. Available for nonlinear, drop test and modal time history studies.
-
. Displays the frequency corresponding to the selected plot step. Available for harmonic and random vibration studies.
-
Update. Updates the results based on the current selected entities.
Display Options
Display resultant forces. When checked, the three force vectors (X-, Y- and Z- components) are converted to a resultant force vector. Only the resultant force vector is displayed.
To list the reaction forces:
-
After running the analysis, right-click the Results folder and select List Result Force.
-or-
Click Simulation, Result Tools, Reaction Force.
-or-
Click Reaction Force (Simulation toolbar).
-
In the PropertyManager, set Units to the desired output units.
-
In the graphics area, select the desired entities for Selection (Face, Edge, Vertex) .
-
Click Update.
View the results under Reaction force.
-
Click .
