When you remove components from a rigid group, the components return to their original location in the MotionManager tree.

To remove components from a rigid group:

Drag components or subassemblies:
- To their original location in the MotionManager tree
- To the mates node or to any top-level motion element of the MotionManager tree
- To the top-level assembly or to a top-level component or subassembly of the MotionManager tree
You can drag components from flexible subassemblies only to the original flexible subassembly or to the top-level assembly.

You can remove all components from a rigid group without deleting the group from the MotionManager tree.
