Changing the Order of Components

You can change the order of the components within a level of the assembly hierarchy.

By default, assembly components appear in the FeatureManager design tree in the order in which they are added. The same order is used in a bill of materials in a drawing of the assembly. By changing the order in the assembly, you can control the order in the bill of materials.

To change the order of components:

Drag and drop the icons in the FeatureManager design tree to rearrange the order. The component is placed below the icon where you drop it (the highlighted icon). Watch for the pointer.

To place a component directly below a sub-assembly, press Alt to change from a reorganize operation (with the pointer) to a reorder operation.
