Sheet Metal Bend Line Notes

Flat pattern drawing views can display bend line notes or bend tables. Sheet metal bend line notes allow:

  • Editing content. Edit text outside the note parameters.

  • Modifying default format. Edit <install_dir>\lang\<language>\bendnoteformat.txt

  • Maintaining associative capabilities. Change the bend angle, bend direction, or bend radius, and the notes update in the drawing.

  • Positioning notes. Change the display position of bend notes.

Edit Note and Note Position

To add and position sheet metal bend notes:

  1. Click Make Drawing from Part/Assembly (Standard toolbar).

  2. Open a drawing sheet.

  3. In the View Palette, drag the flat pattern view into the graphics area.

  4. Click .

If the font is too large, block-select the bend notes, and in the PropertyManager, under Text Format, clear Use document font, click Font, and resize.

  1. Select bend notes individually to:

  • Drag into a legible position

  • Rotate the note

  • Add leaders

You cannot individually delete bend notes, but you can right-click the bend note, and select Hide.

Reverse Display

If you click Flip view in the PropertyManager, or edit the flat pattern feature and change the Fixed face to the opposite side, the sheet metal bend line notes for UP or DOWN reverse to accommodate the change.

Modify Content

Sheet metal bend line notes is a text file located in <install>\lang\<language>\bendnoteformat.txt. This file sets the format of the bend line notes.

  • Use a text editor.

  • Values outside the brackets < > are displayed in the drawing. You can modify these values.

  • Values inside the brackets < > are the parameters that maintain associative capabilities. You can modify these values only if you follow the format within the brackets.
