Helix and Spiral

You can create a helix or spiral curve in a part.

The curve can be used as a path or guide curve for a swept feature, or a guide curve for a lofted feature.

Example - Threads on a Bottle

The helix and the sweep profile are on the neck of the bottle. A boss-sweep feature (shown in blue) creates the threads on the neck of the bottle.

Example - Spiral Spring

Spiral spring Spiral spring in the internal mechanism of a clock

Example - Worm Gear

Variable pitch helix A cut-sweep feature creates the worm gear.
