Changing Model Geometry

You can change the model geometry to see how it affects manufacturing costs.

  1. In the graphics area, right-click the hem and click Suppress menu_Suppress.gif.

  2. In the Costing Task Pane, under Estimated Cost Per Part, click where it says Click to Update.

You need to manually update the cost estimate because you changed the model geometry.

The Estimated Cost Per Part decreases because you simplified the part.

  3. In the graphics area, double-click the part.
  4. Double-click the flange depth, 35.

  5. In the Modify dialog box, type 100 and click PM_OK.gif.
  6. Click Rebuild Tool_Rebuild_Standard.gif (Standard toolbar) or Edit > Rebuild.

The Estimated Cost Per Part increases.
