Example

Remarks

This method is identical to IPartDoc::FirstFeature but was put on the IModelDoc2 object to include access to assemblies and drawings.

For access to the next feature in the FeatureManager design tree and access to subfeatures, use IFeature::GetNextFeature or IFeature::IGetNextFeature and IFeature::GetFirstSubFeature or IFeature::IGetFirstSubFeature methods, respectively.

If the first feature is suppressed, this method can still access that feature.

Your application should not assume that the name or the order of SolidWorks features is always the same. For example, you should not assume that the first feature in the list is always be a reference plane. Additionally because feature names can be customized, you also cannot assume that the first reference plane feature is named Plane1. See IFeature::GetTypeName and IFeature::Name for details.
