Workflow for Performing 2D Simplification

You select from the available plane stress, plane strain, extruded, or axisymmetric options.

After selecting a 2D simplification assumption, the workflow for solving the problem is similar for all options.

Defining a 2D Simplification Study
You use the 2D simplification option when defining a static, nonlinear, thermal, pressure vessel design, and design studies on qualifying 3D models.
2D Simplification PropertyManager
The 2D Simplification PropertyManager manages the creation of 2D sections from 3D geometries.
Creating the 2D Section
You select the type of 2D simplification option to use, create a 2D section, and define the section depth or the axis of symmetry.
Viewing Results
After running a 2D simplification study, you can plot the results in 3D.
