Copying Components with Mates

When you create additional instances of a component in an assembly, you can include mates from the original instance. You do not have to create the mates manually for each new instance.

To copy mates when you copy a component:

  1. Click Copy with Mates Tool_CopyWithMates_Assembly.gif (Assembly toolbar) or Insert > Component > Copy with Mates.
  2. Set options in the PropertyManager.
  3. Click PM_OK.gif.

The PropertyManager remains open so you can create additional instances of the component.

  4. Click PM_OK.gif again to close the PropertyManager.
