Searching Help, Knowledge Base, and Forums

You can search for information in SolidWorks Help, in the online SolidWorks Knowledge Base, and in community forums.

To search in SolidWorks Help you must enable SolidWorks Web Help (Help > Use SolidWorks Web Help).
Access to the Knowledge Base requires SolidWorks Subscription Service and a Customer Portal login.
You can also search local or web-based Help using the built-in search capabilities of the Help system.

To search for information:

  1. In SolidWorks Search search_sw_help.gif, click Arrow_Down_no_box.gif and select SolidWorks Help, Knowledge Base, or Community Forum.
  2. Type the text to search for, then press Enter.

    As you type, Search provides suggestions based on your recent searches.

    Search results appear as follows:

    SolidWorks Help SolidWorks Web Help window
    Knowledge Base SolidWorks Customer Portal window
    Community Forum SolidWorks Community Forums window
