IGetSymLines Method (IEnvironment)

Gets an array that defines all lines in the symbol.

.NET Syntax

Visual Basic (Declaration)
Function IGetSymLines( _
   ByVal SymId As System.String _
) As System.Double
Visual Basic (Usage)
Dim instance As IEnvironment
Dim SymId As System.String
Dim value As System.Double

value = instance.IGetSymLines(SymId)
C#
System.double IGetSymLines(
   System.string SymId
)
C++/CLI
System.double IGetSymLines(
&   System.String^ SymId
)

Parameters

SymId

Name of the geometric tolerance symbol formatted as:

<LibraryName-SymbolName>

where LibraryName and SymbolName is a pre-defined SolidWorks symbol in the SolidWorks text file located in installation_dir>\lang\english\gtol.sym

NOTE: You must include the right- and left-angle brackets and separate LibraryName and SymbolName with a hyphen; for example, <MOD-DEG>.

Return Value

  • in-process, unmanaged C++: Pointer to an array of doubles (see Remarks)
  • VBA, VB.NET, C#, and C++/CLI: Not supported

    See In-process Methods for details about this type of method.

  • Remarks

    Each line in the symbol is defined by 2 points. The size of the array returned by this method is based on the number of lines within this symbol. You can determine this number using the return value line count from IEnvironment::IGetSymEdgeCounts.

    The format of return value is the following array of doubles (in this example, for the (i)th line):

    retval[6 * i + 0] = x-coord of first point

    retval[6 * i + 1] = y-coord of first point

    retval[6 * i + 2] = z-coord of first point

    retval[6 * i + 3] = x-coord of second point

    retval[6 * i + 4] = y-coord of second point

    retval[6 * i + 5] = z-coord of second point

    NOTE: All numeric values returned from the Environment class are relative to a unit text height of 1.0. For example, for a symbol with a text height of .15, multiply the numeric return values by .15.
