Creating Conditions for Categories

You can create conditions to control how Enterprise PDM assigns files and items to categories.

To create conditions for categories:

  1. Expand Categories, then right-click a category and select Properties.
  2. Under Conditions, click New .
  3. Under Type, click Click here to change, select a condition type, and provide additional input as required by the type.
  4. Optionally add more conditions.

By default, conditions are AND conditions, meaning all conditions must be true for the file or item to pass the transition. You can also define OR conditions, meaning at least one condition must be true.

  5. To define OR conditions:
    1. Click Or to create an OR container.
    2. Drag two or more conditions into the OR container.
  6. When you are done adding conditions or otherwise editing the category, click OK.

Condition Operators for Categories
