In parts and assemblies, you can specify features to retain, such as mounting holes, that might otherwise be removed by the Defeature tool.
The Defeature tool automatically removes external holes on parts and components, unless you specify to keep them.
To open the To Keep page of the Defeature PropertyManager, do one of the following:
- In a single-body part, click Defeature (Tools toolbar) or . The PropertyManager opens to the To Keep page.

In an assembly or multibody part, click Defeature (Tools toolbar) or . In the PropertyManager, click Next until the To Keep page appears.

Specifies features to retain in the less-detailed model. Select features to retain that might otherwise be removed by the Defeature tool. Items you can select include:
- Subassemblies
- Parts
- Features, including assembly features and suppressed features
- Reference geometry
- Routing points
- Sketches

Reference Section Plane/Face |
Specifies the plane or face to use to section the model. Select a plane or face, or click Front , Top , or Right to create the section view. Reverse Section Direction changes the direction of the cut. |

Offsets the section from the reference plane by a specified distance. |

X Rotation |
Rotates the section plane along the X-axis. |

Y Rotation |
Rotates the section plane along the Y-axis. |
In the FeatureManager design tree, you can right-click
Defeature and click
Edit Feature ,
Save Result,
Upload to 3DCC, or
Delete.
