Saving to Other File Types

You can save the list information from Assembly Visualization in a separate file such as a Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet or a text file. You can specify to exclude hidden components from the list.

To save the list:

  1. On the Assembly Visualization tab , do one of the following:
    • Click the arrow to the right of the column headers and click Save as.
    • Right-click any column header and click Save as.
  2. In the Save As dialog box:
    1. For Save in, browse to the location where you want to save the list.
    2. For File name, type a name for the list.
    3. For Save as type, select one of the following:

      • Excel(*.xls)
      • Excel 2007(*.xlsx)
      • Text(*.txt)
      • CSV(*.csv)
      • PDF(*.pdf)

    4. Select a format:

      • Top-level only
      • Parts only
      • Indented

    5. Optionally, select Exclude hidden components.
    6. Click Save.

    The file contains a list with the information from the Assembly Visualization list.
