SolidWorks Service Packs

If you are a SolidWorks subscription customer, you can take advantage of SolidWorks service packs that are regularly posted on the SolidWorks Web site.

The SolidWorks Installation Manager checks for downloads and installs updates. If an update is located, the SolidWorks Installation Manager appears.

To check for updates manually:

In SolidWorks, click Help > Check for Updates.

To update local help and tutorials for service packs:

  1. Log in to the SolidWorks Customer Portal.com.
  2. Click Downloads and Updates.
  3. In Select Version, click the version of SolidWorks needed and click the corresponding SolidWorks product. For example, select 2014 and in a row for SolidWorks 2014 and Service Pack 1.0, click Win7/Win8 64-bit.
  4. Click your language and accept the license agreement.
  5. On the Download and Install screen, skip Steps 1 - 3, and at the bottom of the page, click download, unzip, and install all the files.
  6. In Upgrading from Service Pack, select the version you upgraded from, the language, and the SolidWorks product.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. In Step 4 – Required updates, click SolidWorks Help.
  9. Run swHelp<language>.exe to install the help files.
SolidWorks tutorials are only available as local help (.chm files). Help files are available as Web help or as local help files. These local files are excluded from service pack downloads to reduce download size and time. To ensure up-to-date tutorials and local help, you can download the files separately.
