Add to Library PropertyManager

To open the Add to Library PropertyManager, do one of the following:

  • Click Add to Library on the Task Pane Design Library tab.
  • Right-click an item in the FeatureManager design tree and select Add to Library.
  • Drag an item from the FeatureManager design tree into the lower pane of the Design Library.
  • Drag an item from the graphics area into the lower pane of the Design Library.

Items to Add

Select items (features, sketches, blocks, parts, assemblies) in the flyout FeatureManager design tree or graphics area. You can select multiple features and sketches, but only one item at a time for other categories.

Save To

The item is saved in the selected Design Library folder and displayed on the Design Library tab.
File name Type a name (the default is document name). The file type and extension are shown under Options.
Design Library folder Select a folder. To add a new folder, go to the Task Pane Design Library tab and click Create New Folder .
When saving to SolidWorks Toolbox, you must select a third-level folder. The Toolbox folder structure is standard > category > type (for example, ISO > Bolts and Screws > Hex Bolts and Screws).

Options

File type Select a file type corresponding to the type of item selected.
Description Type a description to be displayed in the item's tooltip.
References (assemblies only) Click to open Save As with References dialog box. Select or clear referenced files and specify the locations in which to save them.
