Using Auto Route

To route automatically:

  1. While editing a route, click Tools > Routing > Electrical > Auto Route Tool_AutoRoute_RoutingTools.gif.
  2. In the PropertyManager, under Routing Mode, select one of the following:
    Option Description
Auto Route. Select to automatically route through existing geometry in the 3D route sketch.
Edit (drag). Select to change to the edit mode, so you can adjust the route (by dragging points, lines, and so on) without closing the PropertyManager.
Route along geometry. Select to create a route based on existing geometry. You can specify the distance between the route and each planar face. This makes it easy to create a route that maintains a specific distance from walls and other planar surfaces.
Re-route spline. Select to update a route to travel through selected clips.
Guidelines. Select to display a preview of the wires in a cabling route that contains connectivity data. You can add connectivity data automatically using a From-To list, or manually using Edit Wires. Guidelines show the connections of the wires that need to be bundled into finished routes.
  3. Click PM_OK.gif.
You can also route automatically by dropping cable clips in the route.
