CAD feature name

The name of the selected feature as it appears in the SOLIDWORKS FeatureManager tree. In addition to making the assembly easier to understand, CircuitWorks uses this name when saving an assembly as an IDF file.

CircuitWorks uses extrude and sketch feature names to determine what a features represents (which extrusion is the PCB, which extrusions are keep-outs, which are components, and so on). Name matching is case insensitive (for example, Component_Outline matches COMPONENT_OUTLINE). See SOLIDWORKS Feature Mappings for more information.

CircuitWorks treats panels as boards.

When exporting an assembly that CircuitWorks originally created, the features are named correctly for export. However, when exporting an assembly that was modeled directly in SOLIDWORKS, the features are renamed using the names specified here to ensure that the assembly exports correctly. See Export Rules for details.
