Connector - Link

A Link ties any two vertices or reference points on the model by a rigid bar that is hinged at both ends. The distance between the two locations remains unchanged during deformation.

Type

select_vertex.png Vertex or Point for First Location
select_vertex.png Vertex or Point for Second Location The vertices or reference points can be from the same or different bodies.

Symbol Settings

Edit Color Select a color for the symbols.
Symbol size Set the size of the symbols.
Show preview Toggles the display of the connector symbols in the graphics area.

Notes

Available for static, nonlinear, buckling, frequency, and dynamic studies.

Limitations include:
  • Link connectors are not available for shell models.
  • A link connector can resist axial loads only.
  • Large rotations are not allowed.
