Screen Repaint

Issue: the screen does not repaint properly.

Task Details
Download the latest graphics driver.

Run the latest supported driver for your graphics adapter along with the recommended setting for SOLIDWORKS.

Disable Windows pointer effects.

Some graphics drivers do not fully support these effects, available on some Microsoft Operating Systems.

To disable pointer effects:

  1. On your Windows desktop, right-click and select Properties.
  2. On the Appearance tab, click Effects.
  3. Clear the following:
    • Show Windows content while dragging
    • Show shadows under menus
    • Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips
  4. Click OK.
Disable gradient background and shaded sketch planes.

Your video card may not support this capability.

To disable gradient background and shaded sketch planes:

  1. Click Options (Standard toolbar) or Tools > Options. On the System Options tab:
    • For gradient back ground:
      1. Select Colors.
      2. Under Background appearance, select Plain.
    • For shaded sketch plane:
      1. Select Sketch.
      2. Clear Display plane when shaded.
  2. Click OK.
