Isolating Components for Viewing or Editing

To isolate components:

  1. Select the components you want to isolate in the graphics area or the FeatureManager design tree.

  2. Click View > Display > Isolate or right-click and select Isolate.

    To isolate components that share a mate, right-click the mate in the FeatureManager design tree and click Isolate.

    The removed components change their display state to hidden, wireframe, or transparent. You can use the Isolate popup toolbar to change their display state:

    Wireframe
    Transparent
    Hidden

  3. Select the component you want to edit and click Edit Part or Edit Assembly .
  4. Optionally click Save as Display State to save the display characteristics to a new display state.
  5. When you are done working on the isolated components, click Exit Isolate on the Isolate popup toolbar and Edit Component on the CommandManager.

    The model returns to its original display state.
