Viewing SOLIDWORKS PDM Database Server Errors

Errors from the SOLIDWORKS PDM database server appear in the Event Viewer Application log.

Viewing the Application Log

To view the Application log:

  1. From the Start menu, click Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer .
  2. In the left pane of the Event Viewer, click Application.
    The Application log appears in the right pane.

Saving the Application Log

You can save the Application log as an .evt, .txt, or .csv file. You must use the Event Viewer to view .evt files.

To save the Application log:

  1. In the Event Viewer, do one of the following:
    • Click Action > Save Log File As .

      The Save "Application" As dialog box appears.

    • Click Export List (toolbar).

      The Export List dialog box appears.

  2. For Save in, navigate to the destination location.
  3. For File name, type a file name.
  4. For Save as type, select the file type.
  5. Click Save.
