Creating an Alias Set

Use alias sets to map SOLIDWORKS PDM variables to variables in an ERP system.

For example, you can use an alias set if the SOLIDWORKS PDM BOM contains a variable named Revision, while the ERP system defines the same variable by the name Rev.

To create an alias set:

  1. Expand Data Import/Export , right-click Variable Alias Sets, and select New Alias Set.
  2. Type the alias Set name.
  3. Under Mapped variables, for each variable in the set:
    1. Click under the Variable column and select a variable from the list.
    2. In the Alias column, type an alias for the selected variable.
  4. Click OK.
