Exporting the Component Library

You can export the Component Library as a comma-separated values (CSV) file to exchange library information between two seats of CircuitWorks, or between CircuitWorks and another system.

The exported data includes the component name, the location and name of the part model (.sldprt) file, and component properties such as height.

To export the Component Library:

  1. From the CircuitWorks Component Library dialog box, select Tools > Export Data and select one of the following:
    • To Text File, to export to a file
    • To Database, to export to an SQLite database
  2. From the Save As dialog box, select the location, type the file name, and select the file type for the Component Library data file.
The Custom Delimited Text File file type uses the delimiter specified in CircuitWorks Options - Library, vertical bar (|) by default, and a .txt extension.
Select Custom Delimited Text File or TAB Delimited Text File when using comma (,) as the decimal delimiter.
  3. Click Save.

Once exported, another user could import your Component Library file.
