Mirror and Opposite-Hand Disambiguation

Various commands are available for mirroring and creating opposite-hand versions of items such as sketch entities, features, parts, and assembly components. The command you need depends on the type of item for which you want to create a mirror or an opposite-hand version.

Environment Task
Sketch Mirror existing sketch entities.



In a sketch, click Mirror Entities Tool_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch Tools > Mirror.

Sketch Mirror sketch entities as you sketch them.

In a sketch, click Dynamic Mirror Entities Tool_Dynamic_Mirror_Entities_Sketch.gif (Sketch toolbar) or Tools > Sketch Tools > Dynamic Mirror .

Part Mirror features and bodies within a part.



In a part, click Mirror (Features toolbar) or Insert > Pattern/Mirror > Mirror.

Part Create an opposite-hand version of a part.

In a part, select a face or plane to mirror about, and then click Insert > Mirror Part.

Assembly Mirror an assembly feature.



In an assembly, click Assembly Features (Assembly tab on the CommandManager) and click Mirror , or click Insert > Assembly Feature > Mirror.

In an assembly, click Mirror Components (Assembly toolbar) or Insert > Mirror Components.
