Assigning Bodies when Editing Split or Saved Bodies Features

When editing split or saved bodies features, you can manually assign bodies to existing derived parts or to new part files.

You can follow this procedure to assign unassigned bodies after changing trim tools in split features.

To manually assign bodies while editing a split feature:

  1. With the Split PropertyManager open, in the graphics area, click the right side of the name for the body.
  2. In the Assign File dialog box:
    • Select Existing file and use the drop-down list with previews to select an existing derived part.
    • Select New file and click Browse to assign the body to a part that is not a derived part for this feature.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Follow Steps 1 - 4 to manually assign other bodies.
  5. Click in the Split PropertyManager and save the part.
This procedure also applies to the Save Bodies PropertyManager when working with saved bodies features.
