To create an edge flange that is longer than its adjoining edge:

  1. Open install_dir\samples\whatsnew\sheetmetal\bracket.sldprt.
  2. Click Edge Flange (Sheet Metal toolbar) or Insert > Sheet Metal > Edge Flange.
  3. Select the edge shown.

  4. In the PropertyManager, under:
    1. Flange Length, set to Length to 40.
    2. Flange Parameters, click Edit Flange Profile.
  5. In the graphics area, drag each vertical sketch segment so they extend beyond the adjoining sheet metal edge approximately as shown.
  6. In the Profile Sketch dialog box, click Finish.
The edge flange is added to the part.
