Vault Settings

You customize your SOLIDWORKS PDM environment by using the Administration tool to add and modifying vault settings.

Some settings are already provided, such as default Bills of Materials, variables, file types, and a default workflow. Others you create through the use of wizards and dialog boxes.

Settings can be unique to a vault or used in multiple vaults by exporting a set of settings from one vault and importing the settings into other vaults.

  • Exporting Vault Settings

    Most administrative settings/tools have an export function that lets you export settings from a vault to make them available in other vaults or for testing.

  • Importing Vault Settings

    The SOLIDWORKS PDM vault Import option lets you add settings that have been exported from another vault.
